The first Christmas card was sent by the year 1840 and soon after became part of the Christmas spirit. Nowadays, thousands of cards are delivered all over Great Britain. In your opinion, how do you think the Christmas tree became popular among the English?
Now that's a secular history. It's said that Prince Albert, Queen Victory's husband, was the first person to introduce the Christmas tree to the Royal House in the year 1840. Since 1947, Norway sends a huge tree to Great Britain in order to reinforce the cooperation between the countries during the Second World War. This tree is part of Trafalgar Square's Christmas decoration.
